SIEVE ANALYSIS OF AGGREGATE

 SIEVE ANALYSIS



         The size of aggregates is first qualified by the size of square sieve opening through which an aggregate may pass, and not by shape. Aggregates which happen to fall in particular size range may have rounded, cubical, angular, flaky or elongated shape of particles.
         Rounded particles may be preferred in cement concrete mix due to low specific surface area & better workability for the same proportion of cement paste & same water cement ratio.



SIEVE ANALYSIS (Coarse Aggregates 40 mm)

Sieve Analysis for Coarse Aggregates 40 mm to be used in concrete mix (1:4:8) for P.C.C. work.
·         Firstly, an aggregates sample (5 kg.) is taken.
·         IS sieves are arranged in proper sequence.
·         Sieves are set on Sieve-Shaker Machine.
·        The sample of aggregates is sieved through set of sieves & separated into specified size range.

RESULT:- The aggregates are applicable for concrete mix & Silt is 70  gm.




SIEVE  ANALYSIS (Fine Aggregates)


·         Firstly, a Fine aggregates sample (Sand) of wt. 1 kg. is taken.
·         IS sieves are arranged in proper sequence.
·         Sieves are set on Sieve-Shaker Machine,
·         The sample of aggregates is sieved through set of sieves & separated into specified size range.

RESULT:- The aggregates are applicable for concrete mix. & Silt content is 35 gm.
